Meridian Maple
Launched nicely into the middle of the range for 2009 are the sisters, Meridian Maple and Meridian Birch. The Meridian Maple features 7-ply 5.8mm toms and snare and a 7.2mm base drum, while the birch option features 6-ply 7.2mm toms, snare and base. Both kits utilise the Isolated Tom Mount System and 700 series Mapex hardware, with a redesigned lug for lower overall mass. Remo UT heads are used throughout. These kits are set apart from their Q and QR series cousins primarily by their Maple and Birch shells but also by their finishing which is a real treat. The eight coat hand sanded lacquer finish really pops! The quality of finish plays a big part in why these are Mapex's most popular kits.
